Bullhorn Press is dedicated to creating printed editions in the tradition of the democratic multiple. We value experimentation and non-traditional printing methods.
All works are pulled by hand on a Vandercook 219 letterpress. Made between 1951-53, the press weighs a ton (literally) and prints up to 18x24" sheets. Every print is handmade, one color at a time. Bullhorn Press mainly works from photopolymer plates, custom made from digitized artwork. These plates make an impression into the page, creating distinctively tactile prints.
We are committed to mitigating our environmental impact. Whenever possible, the paper we use is Legion Bamboo, made of 90% bamboo, 10% cotton.
Currently located in Highland Park, Los Angeles, Bullhorn Press has been run by Jaye Fishel since 2006.
We are happy to take inquiries for custom orders that desire an artist-driven, handmade effect.
